DERBY COMMUNITY MEDIA ARCHIVE


The Community Media Archive has been developed through support from EMMedia, the Skills Funding Agency and MACE, and hosts an archive channel of community media from the region to search and view in addition to a user message board and upload toolkits. The site also has a vocations resource with information, resources and toolkits to support training and development within the creative and media industries.

NEWS: FULL CIRCLE ARCHIVE PROJECT

Full Circle is a regional project run by MACE [Media Archive of Central England] supporting local groups to research and collate archive footage in their towns and cities.

Film City have developed a Full Circle group through the Derby Living Histories Project.

NEWS: POST-WW2 STORIES SOUGHT

The producers of a forthcoming documentary feature film about life in Britain after the Second World War are looking for stories from the general public to contribute to the research and development of the film.

Individuals, groups and communities can contribute their stories, memories and personal archives of this important time in Britain’s history through a specially built WEBSITE.

NEWS: ARCHIVE FILM ON THE BBC

The series Reel History follows Melvyn Bragg as he meets real people as they recount fascinating and surprising stories about how life in Britain used to be, as told through the moving reels of the British Film Institute’s and regional archive collections.

The series will be broadcast in the Autumn with twenty half hour episodes. This is when we can use the interest generated by the programmes to direct viewers to the resources and activities in their area.
