FUSING FRAMES
What does this city mean to you? Reclaim your streets, make something happen.

Fusing Frames is an exciting digital-art workshop, exploring the hidden stories and territories of Derby City. If you could redesign Derby how would it work? What does the future look like to you? Using the latest in mapping technology, 3D Design, mobile phones and video we want you to create a new virtual map of your city.

Each week we will get out onto the streets of Derby to make films, hide virtual art and explore places that are important to you and the places that are hidden from view. Your films will be made into a new media map that shows Derby city through your eyes.

Workshops
Workshops take place @ QUAD every Saturday between 1100 - 1600. Workshops start 29 August at QUAD and run for 10 weeks.

COMMUNITY CHANNEL FEATURES DERBY FILMS
Making It' and 'Trinity Anthem', produced by Film City Productions and Trinity, were broadcast on the Meet The Future slot on The Community Channel in July.

Derby's Trinity Family began working with Film City Productions under the guidance of singer and mentor Obe Watson [Rukus], to develop some innovative films which allowed them to use their creative talents as performers but also learn about the process of film making.

The resulting films, including a display of the talents of Richard Blackwood who also mentored the performers, represent the creative collaborations of the group with Film City as they explored the issues and stories that were important to them. The work has led to the young people involved moving on to further creative endeavours. Zara, 17, wrote and performed her own song lyrics and script in the film 'Making it' and went on to win an regional X-Factor style competition to write and perform her own material in a newly emerging girl band called 'DE'SIRE'

Zara
The film was fun to do but hard work as well, and it inspired me to work a lot harder on my writing and performing ... I've got much more focus now and some big future plans.
