Heritageschool_______________________________________________________________ Pupils from the Heritage school in Bolsover are currently undertaking a media production project allowing them to explore prospective careers within both the textiles and media industry respectively. The project will pave the way for fruitful links between education and industry in the future with the development of the new creative diplomas soon to be part of the national curriculum. The project has been developed by The Hub Agency in Derby as part of their work with
Creative Partnerships across the region, to facilitate links between the creative
industries and education. The Design Forum in Nottingham are supporting the students
with the research and development of their project by supplying the platform network
of information, contacts and links to the prolific textiles industry on their doorstep. Week 1 Reporters - Melissa and Stacey Melissa Stacie ![]() _______________________________________________________________ BLOG REPORT | 14.03.08 Hello we are Carrie and Tash from Heritage school in Bolsover and we're this weeks reporters on the progress of our media production project. The project is an opportunity to learn about the textiles industry but also work with the media industry to create a film about the careers we may be able to get involved with. We re quite interested in the project because it gives us a chance to get real industry experiences outside of what we can learn in normal lessons and so hopefully gives us a better chance of being able to do the jobs we're interested in doing in the future. We both got involved in the project because we want to be clothes designers but we're also learning about all the other things that we didn't know that people were doing for jobs in textile designs so hopefully this film will be an opportunity for other people like us to find out more. All the work that we do to produce the film and the information we learn about the textiles industry is being put online in this project blog, so there will also be a resource available for people who want to learn more about work in both the textiles and media industries. We presented our report at a Creative Diploma Event in Chesterfield. The document is in .pdf format.
